I really like Live Journal. Its a superb way of having an interactive blog, and once you have got people online or your real world friends looking and making comments (and you on theres), you sort of get a feeling for how the net is going.
I read an article today on the online Sydney Morning Herald on what the web is gonna be like in the future and it mentions Social Networking, in particular:
"By 2014, use of the internet will increase the size of people's social networks far beyond what has traditionally been the case."
How do you think its going to be??
Having online friends or real world friends makes no difference.. Personally I want these different blogging services to have one central username area, just for simplistic sakes really.. So that if JohnSmith blogs to one site he is the same JohnSmith that blogs elswehere. I appreciate people want alias's occasionally, but these are linked together somewhere.. Live Journal has your user IDs which means you can see when friends make comments, and see there sites..
I want to be able to post on Typepad and get it showing here, or get Typepad to have the interaction that LJ allows. I just like things to be simple occasionally.

The mighty Sherman got in touch with me the other day... and wanted a bit of advice on the Yellowsnow Online presence... after all I am the most qualified.. NOT!!
Anyway the website http://www.yellowsnowuk.com has now expired.. It was a great website, but required a dedicated person to keep it updated. Which didn't happen often. So I recommended a better way for the Snowboard Club to keep in touch.. via a blog. After all everyone then keeps there own part of the site up to date!
Now I have my blog online, and its something I like to keep updated. I'm getting really into it now along with my flickr site. I am really interested in the collaborative web, and there is plenty of new ideas coming up with Web 2.0...
So it had to be a real community orientated one.. something like Live Journal!! I use Typepads service for my blog; and typepad own Movable Type and Live Journal as well. I remember getting an email last year, and these three services are gonna somehow all link together soon, to bring the best ideas together.. how I do not know!!
So what Sherm needs to do now is to set up his own ID and join the yellowsnowboard http://www.livejournal.com/community/ye llowsnowboard/ community in LJ. Then get everyone who is interested to join as well... That way we can pass news, and gossip and if you a paid user then share piccys as well.
Oh yeah the other way of sharing piccys is to use a Flickr account.. and join the Yellowsnow group! http://www.flickr.com/groups/yellow snow/
